Jean-Baptiste André Godin (1817-1888), founder of the famous Godin stove factory, envisioned a society offering its employees the "equivalents of wealth". In the second half of the 19th century, he built the Familistère or "Social Palace". You'll discover the Familistère through its site museum, the show apartment, the courtyards of the residential pavilions, the pleasure garden, the commissaries, the Théâtre du Familistère and the laundry-pool.

The Familistère de Guise is closed from January 5 to 19, 2026 inclusive.
