Jean-Baptiste André Godin (1817-1888), founder of the manufacture of the famous Godin stoves, imagined a company offering its employees the "equivalent of wealth". During the second half of the 19th century, he created the Familistère or "Palais Social". You will discover the Familistère through its site museum, the show flat, the courtyards of the residential pavilions, the pleasure garden, the commissaries, the Familistère Theatre and the laundry-pool.
